The Cozy Season: Flowers

Fall's warm colors are just as cozy inside as they are outside. And while autumnal flowers are pretty extraordinary on their own, fruits and foliage add amazing texture. The ladies from Studio Choo share some great ideas on seasonal flower arrangements in their book The Flower Recipe Book which features step-by-step instructions that follow a recipe format. The instructions are easy enough to follow but also inspire a creative and personal approach to floral design. But really, the pictures alone are reason enough to pick up the book.

Flower Power

For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to go to flower school. I grew up in a garden apartment and was often in the dirt planting, pulling and playing. And while I no longer have a garden, I have some plants and I try to pick up flowers with Jules on a weekly basis. And while they're certainly pretty to look at, there's also something about arranging flowers that's so therapeutic.

Motherhood

Never did I think the love I feel for my son would be so moving...so powerful. I'm blessed to have his warm smile and sweet soul in my life. Motherhood is truly amazing.

Happy tulips

It's going to be a cold week. And as if that wasn't bad enough, we're expecting snow again. So I picked up purple tulips at the market this morning and already I feel better (granted, it hasn't started snowing yet). And they make me think of my sister...it's her birthday today!

Speaking of happy tulips, I just love this ad. Jules is obsessed with eos lip balms. He loves that he can handle them on his own (they're the perfect size for his little hands). I love that they're natural and free of chemicals.
