The
Material Lab at
The Museum of Modern Art is an interactive space where kids can learn about how materials are used in art and create art themselves. Nothing is off limits. Kids can explore different materials, colors and textures all while letting their imagination run free. It rocks!
What's also really great is that little ones are able to explore art
through different mediums. Jules really liked exploring color on the
light box. And using a paintbrush to make digital art was pretty cool.
They also have a great selection of art books both kids and adults can
enjoy.
Although museum trips can still be fun for little ones even though
touching is off-limits (we like to pick a color and see how many times
we spot it throughout the museum, "I Spy" is always fun, and we even
named one of
Diego Rivera's horses), experimenting and creating at the Material Lab is a great way to round out the experience.
Kids under 16 are free. And Target Free Friday nights are held every Friday from 4 to 8pm.
On the radar for the weekend:

Cutie Patooties in Englewood from 9:30am -1pm (crafts and open play)
Family fun day (brunch and a show) on Sunday at the
