The Glow

May 31, 2011

I'm pretty obsessed with the new site, The Glow. It's like a Selby for the mom set. Photographer Kelly Stuart does an amazing job at capturing tender mom and baby moments, and awesome spaces.

Blue skies

May 28, 2011

Nothing but blue skies and lots of fun in my weekend plans. Hope you have a great one!

Simple (and Collected) Beauty

May 25, 2011

Beauty and simplicity live side-by-side in the new lifestyle magazine, Collected. The first issue is beautiful. The layout is very minimal, the images are well shot and the articles are really great. It's sophisticated, yet accessible, and not overwhelming in size. The issue also includes a feature on uncharted territory in Los Angeles via profiles of creative and vibrant locals. And I really enjoyed the Founder's Letter (which in my mind, is super important).

And truth be told, I really like their logo.

Currently loving...

May 18, 2011

As I've shared before, I just love contrast in jewelry. I fell in love with this darling necklace while browsing one of my fav shops, Terrain. The offsetting of the delicate chain with a leather strap caught my eye. And the brass lilies with glass beads made it official. I'm so looking forward to finally taking a trip out to the shop this summer.

Saw Little Bright Studio's Constellation of the Northern Hemisphere over on Simple Lovely) and immediately picked one up for Jules. I'm detecting a starry pattern (see second image here).

Because comfort is key when chasing a toddler around and these boat shoes are super cute.

I'm loving the lovely designs of Cuban-born artist and textile designer Lourdes Sanchez for West Elm. I especially love this blue coral pillow.

Currently on loan from the library...

May 11, 2011

Because I need to get better at managing my finances.

Because it's Patti Smith...and so many people have loved this book.

Because Gwyneth is doing her thing. The images are beautiful and she has a spaghetti and zucchini recipe I want to make.

Because I appreciate a personal approach to interior design.

And because Jules is slowly becoming a finicky eater. (And to think when I first heard of this book I thought "I'll never do that!")

I'm taking Patti with me today on an overnight business trip to Jacksonville. Looking forward to some quiet time on the plane.

Color Therapy: Coral

May 10, 2011

Because coral makes me happy...

And so do zebras...

Picked these up at Anthropologie with a gift card from my little honey.

Motherhood

May 8, 2011

Never did I think the love I feel for my son would be so moving...so powerful. I'm blessed to have his warm smile and sweet soul in my life. Motherhood is truly amazing.

Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely moms. May your day be filled with lots of love, smiles and sunshine.

Jules helped me pick out these beautiful peonies. Aren't they gorgeous?!

BHLDN

May 5, 2011

I just jumped over to BHLDN, Anthropologie's bridal line, to check out their new party decor collection and I couldn't help but swoon over their super cute dresses, shoes and hair accessories. Every time I visit I find myself wishing I had a party to attend. Very true to the Anthropologie aesthetic, most of their stuff is very ethereal, with a vintage twist and eye to detail. I especially adore their shoes and hair accessories. And I fell hard for the clamshell necklace pictured below...it's a locket! Oh, and the new decor line is cute too.

Summer wheels

May 4, 2011

How great would it be to zip around on one of these this summer (and look this chic doing so)?! Too bad they don't make a car seat for it.

Music and Margaritas

May 3, 2011

With nice weather finally here, so begins summer music and festival season. We kicked it off this past weekend with a trip to the KindieFest Family Festival in Park Slope. It was awesome! Really great music, lots of instruments and a bar.  I was super excited to see Elizabeth Mitchell, but I was blown away by every artist I saw.

We then stumbled upon Bogota Latin Bistro. I'm a sucker for restaurants with back terraces and this one did not disappoint. Neither did the food. My girl Celia was there. And they gave Jules Wikki Stix.
